VIDEO: The Lack of Recoil on the SCAR 17S Is Sick

As far as battle rifles go, the FN SCAR has made its mark. The SCAR 17S, the semi-auto only version of the U.S. Special Operations Command’s newest service rifle, is chambered in 7.62x51mm.

The rifle is fully ambidextrous and features a free-floating, cold hammer-forged MIL-SPEC barrel with hardchromed bore. What does that translate to? Well, insanely low recoil, for starters.

Recently, Lucas Botkin of T.Rex Arms put the SCAR 17S through its paces and demonstrated the recoil, or lack thereof, with the rifle.

“Lucas Botkin runs a simple close range target transition drill with his SCAR 17. The weight and added recoil of 7.62×51 doesn’t slow him down too much.

“He’s running the stock SCAR muzzle brake, EOTech EXPS 3, and Geissele Super Scar trigger.”
