Upgrade Your Springfield XD to OSP with the new Slide Conversion Kits

With red-dot optics becoming more affordable, many are looking to move to the aiming devices. However, not everyone is ready to ditch their favorite pistols just to add optics. So, for those of you who are not ready to pitch your original Springfield XD comes the OSP slide kits. As a result, you can now convert your favorite handgun to accept modern red-dot optics and move to 4-inch 9mm.

Springfield XD OSP Slide Kits and Assembly Conversion Systems

Available in 4-inch 9mm configuration, the first kit is packaged with the full slide assembly. This includes the recoil spring assembly, barrel, and optics mounting plate in the Springfield Micro footprint. As a result, it converts your 5-inch 9mm to 4-inch 9mm with OSP capabilities. Likewise, it can convert 4- and 5-inch .40 cal to 4-inch 9mm with OSP capabilities.

The slide cut accepts optics like the Shield SMSc and allows for co-witnessing with the iron sights. At $396.00, this kit (part # XD4902) converts the following pistols:

XD 5″ 9mm to XD 4″ OSP 9mm
XD 4″.40 to XD 4″ OSP 9mm (with purchase of 9mm magazine)
XD 5″.40 to XD 4″ OSP 9mm (with purchase of 9mm magazine)

However, if you already have a 4-inch 9mm configuration and just want to add OSP capabilities, there’s a less expensive option. The kit (part # XD4901) includes a replacement slide featuring an OSP cut with Springfield Micro footprint optics-mounting plate. Since it’s not changing the size and/or caliber of your pistol, it doesn’t include a recoil spring assembly or barrel. Instead, it utilizes your original components.

This kit costs a much lower $270.00. However, Springfield includes the option to package the slide with the Crimson Trace CTS-1000 red-dot optic and optic mounting plate. The cost for this package is $369.00.
