Bond Arms Backup: Deep Concealment for Summertime Carry

The Bond Arms Backup beats the heat for summertime carry.

July 7, 2021

Let’s talk plainly here. Sometimes, during the heat of the summer, lugging around that full-size 1911 is the last thing any of us want to do. But being prepared means having a gun on you–at all times. The Bond Arms Backup provides an alternative to packing the big gun for summertime carry. The Backup comprises an ultra-compact derringer, built lightweight to remain highly concealable. Chambered in 9mm or .45 ACP, it brings plenty of knockdown power to a fight.

Bond Arms Backup Summertime Carry

The Backup weighs just 19 ounces overall. It measures 4.5 inches long, with a 2.5-inch barrel. The pistol features bead-blasted stainless steel parts, including the barrels, trigger, trigger guard, and hammer. The discrete matte finish proves subtle. A black crinkle powder coating on the frame further subdues the pistol’s look. An upgraded black rubber grip matches the frame. Finally, The pistol comes with a front blade and fixed rear sight.

Chambered in 9mm and .45 ACP, the Backup brings plenty of stopping power. But like all Bond Arms pistols, it accommodates most any switch-barrel in the Bond Arms inventory, all the way up to .410 bore, for a nasty fight stopper.
