The OA 2311 Pro is the full-size ported powerhouse of the OA Defense line-up. The OA Defense 2011Pro Full Size, as mentioned, uses Sig 320 mags. The reason for that is most current double-stack 1911 pistols rely on a proprietary magazine that requires special tuning and maintenance. Traditional 1911 magazines were never designed for native use with 9mm ammunition. The stacking geometry was not optimized for a 9mm cartridge size. By utilizing the P320 magazine pattern, the OA 2311 gains the advantage of having a dedicated 9mm magazine. You also get increased reliability and performance. The dedicated 9mm geometry of the P320 magazine pattern in the OA 2311 provides a great blend of race and duty gun performance.

Classic 1911 Trigger Performance

One of 1911’s greatest upsides is its short, single-action, straight-pull trigger design. Because of that, the OA 2311 utilizes series 70 1911 fire control components to deliver a phenomenally crisp short 4 to 4 ½ pound trigger pull. It also has one of the best and most tactile resets on a hammer gun today.

The pistol has a true ambidextrous control set.  This is a 1911 style pistol equipped with a right-side slide stop and completely ambidextrous safety wings. The barrel on the OA 2311 is both bushingless and linkless.  That means that not only is takedown and servicing more effortless, but it also cycles faster.

Patented Debris Clearance Channels

Historically the 1911 has always been prone to malfunction in less than ideal environments. The OA Defense 2011Pro full-size benefits from a system of patented debris clearance channels machined into critical parts of the action. These debris clearance channels allow particulate that may otherwise jam up the pistol and cause a stoppage to self-evacuate during cycling. The result is more reliable performance and fewer malfunctions.
