SC Home Invasion Ends with One Suspect Dead, Two On the Loose

A South Carolina home invasion ended with one suspect dead and two still on the loose.

According to Q13 FOX, Lakewood police received a call from a homeowner at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday who said he and his wife had just been robbed. Upon arrival at the residence located at the 11000 block of Briar Road Southwest, the homeowner said three men knocked on their door Tuesday night and forced their way in. One was armed with a handgun, and another was armed with a knife.

After forcing their way in, the suspects proceeded to pistol-whip the husband and cut the wife’s hand before tying them both up. They then searched the house for valuables.

As Q13 FOX reports, the suspects briefly stepped outside at some point during the home invasion. While they were outside, the husband said he managed to untie himself and his wife. The two locked the door to the home and ran into a back bedroom.

The trio of men managed to force their way back into the home and make their way to the bedroom where the couple was hiding. The husband, who had armed himself with a handgun, opened fire on the suspects as they came through the bedroom door.

One suspect was hit, and all three fled the scene. The body of the shot suspect was discovered in a parking lot 20 miles away. Police believe his body was dumped there by his accomplices.

The husband, identified by KOMO News as Harry Lodholm, was treated for lacerations to his head, and the wife was treated with cuts to her hand.

The two suspects still at large are described as black males, roughly 5’10” tall with a medium build. Both were wearing dark clothing with knit caps and masks covering their faces, Q13 FOX reported.
