Smith & Wesson has caught the eye of the firearms industry with its Spec Series guns. Today, they have announced the newest addition to this line-up: the new S&W – M&P 9 Metal HD—Spec Series V.

S&W – M&P 9 Metal HD -Steel-Frame Spec Series Pistol

This is the fifth iteration of their Spec Series family. It is also a first of its kind, built with superior performance in mind. It is a striker-fired pistol chambered in 9mm and has a 23-round capacity. The new pistol utilizes a newly designed aluminum trigger to facilitate more consistent and accurate shooting.

Weighing 2.31 pounds (without a magazine), the M&P9 Metal HD features a steel frame construction with enhanced texturing. It has a steel mag well, and a steel optics plate that increases overall weight and helps reduce felt recoil. Its 4.8-inch threaded barrel, controls, and magwell all display a sharp blue PVD finish, and it is equipped with a Strike Industries compensator to mitigate muzzle rise and improve control.

The M&P9 Metal HD ships with tall C.O.R.E. green night sights out of the box and includes an optics-ready slide if you choose to operate your preferred red dot. Additional features include three 23-round magazines, a Limited-Edition Spec Series Coin and Knife, and a hard carry case.

Steel Frame—The new steel frame construction adds significant mass to the pistol, making recoil management much easier and allowing for faster follow-up shots.

Flat-Faced Aluminum Trigger—The New flat design in aluminum allows for consistent trigger finger placement, resulting in more accurate and repeatable shooting.

Optic Ready Slide—The slide is cut to fit a variety of optical sights using the C.O.R.E. system plates. The ClearSight Cut in the slide directs gas away from your optic, ensuring a clear sight picture.

A threaded barrel with a compensator is installed, and the recoil is low, allowing quick follow-up shots.
