Walther Meister Q5 Match Arabesque

It seems that 90% of our handguns are black and utilitarian. We accept that because, for the most part, they are tools. However, there was a day when people took the time to add embellishments to their guns. These ranged from simple carvings on stocks to detailed engraving on handguns. While it may seem to be a thing of the past, that tradition lives on. The sources of this dedication to ballistic art may surprise some. Some of the most beautiful guns on earth come from the Walther Master Workshop. Today, we will look at the Walther Meister Q5 Match Arabesque.

Walther Meister Q5 Match Arabesque – Ballistic Art

Based in Ulm, Germany, Walther Meister Manufaktur custom-makes guns according to the customer’s wishes. Everything is possible, from Cerakoted PPQ slides with a matching holster to an exclusive hard chromed surface finish. This includes technical refinements such as a trigger tuned to the customer’s requirements, even for service pistols, other operating levers, or special sights. The communication between the customer and the master craftsman creates a special relationship of trust, culminating in “My Walther” after a reasonable delivery time.

A Walther Master Workshop firearm is always something special. Each one is unique, built by its master gunsmith to meet exceptional technical or aesthetic requirements—or a combination of both. Such a firearm is always more than “just” a service pistol or sport pistol. It is a reflection of the owner’s individuality. The “Arabesque” is a one-off, uniquely customized Q5 Steel Frame that takes the design idiom to a level not realized on production pistols before. With embellishments usually reserved for the best sporting shotguns and rifles, this is the perfect fusion of form and function, combining sensuality and pure clarity, truly enhancing excellence.

All parts have been coin-finished and then adorned with exquisite full-coverage hand engraving completed with 24-carat gold inlay by world-renowned Italian master engraver Dario Cortini. The barrel, slide, steel frame, and even magazine base plate of the “Arabesque” are all Tenifer nitride treated and polished to give superior hardness and phenomenal protection against corrosion.

“Having an awareness of Walther’s unique history, then adding emotion and the courage to break boundaries with innovative ideas, has created an exquisite yet usable pistol. Balancing engineering, art, and performance at the highest level is at the apex of our manufacturing achievements. The Arabesque model embodies what Walther is capable of.” said Bernhard Knöbel, CEO of Carl Walther GmbH.

The Black Diamond, Black Tie, Patriot, and Arabesque models have several uniquely defining features separating them from a standard production model. Highly skilled artisans have worked with Walther engineers to fuse the best aesthetic embellishments with performance upgrades and state-of-the-art surface treatments.

The Arabesque is by far the most ornate model in the lineup. As always, items with this much work put into them come at a cost. This beauty will set you back a mere $30,000.00. Just tell your kids that college is overrated and dip into the college fund. Regardless if you buy one, the Walther Meister Q5 Match Arabesque is still beautiful.
