The ambidextrous AR-style rotary safety gives the series its name, but the 590R is much more than that.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The gun features an 18.5-inch barrel with integrated heat shield; top rail and barrel-mounted Magpul MBUS 3 flip-up sights; an enlarged, beveled loading port with an exposed follower; Mossberg\u2019s Accu-Choke system, a flat-profile trigger, and a 5-position adjustable stock with a Magpul MOE pistol grip, interchangeable recoil pad, and two quick-detach points. The pump-action 590R comes in 12-gauge with a 3-inch chamber and a 6+1 tube magazine. MSRP is $1,085.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mossberg also offers the 590R Standoff<\/a> version, which lacks the MBUS flip-up sights, but includes a ported breaching muzzle. MSRP is also $1,085.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 12-gauge 590RM<\/a> offers the same features as the 590R but adds the improved capacity of a 10-round detachable magazine, with 20-rounders also available. Our previous experience with mag-fed pump shotguns has been less-than-stellar, but reports on the 590RM are very good. We found it much easier to handle and shoot at Range Day than our other mag-fed guns. Unlike the 590R, the 590RM has a 2.75-inch chamber. It is also available in the Standoff model, with the same feature differences as the 590R. MSRP for the 590RM and 590RM Standoff<\/a> is $1,190.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mossberg also expanded the much-loved 940 platform with the 940 Pro Tactical SPX Series<\/a>. These 12-gauge guns feature a 3-inch chamber; an eight or five-round tube magazine; a new forend with integrated heat shield, QD points, and M-Lok slots; adjustable length-of-pull; a cleaner-running gas system, and a redesigned, oversized safety, knurled charging handle, and ergonomic bolt release.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n The optic-ready receiver allows direct mounting of RMSc-footprint red dots, and the gun ships with RMR, Docter, and Leupold adapter plates. The receiver is also drilled and tapped for other optics or accessories. Mossberg offers a Holosun Micro Dot Combo<\/a> that includes a Holosun 407K red dot. A Vang Comp Systems six-shotshell carrier is also included with all 940 Pro Tactical SPX models. Two Cerakote models are also available. MSRP runs from $1,190 to $1,371, depending on the model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Panzer Arms brings us another semi-auto Benelli M2 clone, but this one has a nice Turkish walnut stock and 24-inch barrel to bring the fast-cycling action to the sporting world. The M2 Speed<\/a> has a 3-inch chamber and a nine-round tube magazine. The full-length rib has a brass bead rear sight coupled with a fiber-optic front sight for top performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
