Firearm Parts

There are many different types and styles of firearms, each with its own unique set of parts. Depending on the type of firearm, there can be different types of barrels, grips, stocks, sights, and more. Choosing the right parts for your firearm can be daunting. We’re here to help. At Tactical Life, Ballistic, and Personal Defense World, we cover the basics of handgun and rifle parts so you can make a decision when it comes time to upgrade your firearm.
Handguns typically have shorter barrels than rifles. Handgun barrels can be rifled or smooth bore, and are usually made from steel, aluminum, or polymer. The grip is one of the most important parts of a handgun, as it determines how well you can control the weapon. Grips come in a variety of materials, including wood, plastic, rubber, and metal.
Rifles have longer barrels than handguns, which gives them greater accuracy at long range. Rifle barrels can also be rifled or smooth bore, and are usually made from steel or aluminum. Some rifle stocks are fixed while others are collapsible or folding. Lastly, rifle sights are used to align the barrel with your target and can be either open (iron) sights or optical (telescopic) sights.
The great thing about firearms is that parts can be swapped out or upgraded for a custom gun. There is always a new firearm part being made to accommodate rifles and handguns and Tactical Life, Ballistic, and Personal Defense World are here to keep you informed of what’s new on the market.
