Police allege that\u00a0Justin Daniels approached the driver and started shooting at him. That's when the driver ran into the shop and grabbed his own gun. Meanwhile, the suspect walked around and entered through the front door and started shooting again. The store contained six employees, and a couple of customers had just left before the gunman walked in.\r\n\r\n\u201cIt was just like being in a movie,\u201d said David Sorrows to WSBTV<\/a>.\r\n\r\nAs the suspect continue to randomly fire, the driver returned fire. Luckily, no one was hit during the gunfight. However, the driver suffered minor injuries when he fell running into the shop. Another employee claimed a bullet lightly grazed his back. Police charged Daniels with six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police also arrested another man, but have not released his name.\r\n\r\nThe judge denied bond during Daniel's first appearance. Police claim that the delivery driver acted in self defense and won't face charges for his actions.\r\n
Delivery Driver Needs to Keep Gun on His Person<\/h3>\r\nThere are no reports on why the suspect supposedly fired on the driver. In fact, nothing reveals any motive for this crime at all. Regardless, this incident makes a great case for keeping your gun on your person. Having a gun sitting inside a store when you're outside the store does very little good.\r\n\r\nIt's possible that the driver doesn't have a permit, but if not, he might want to consider going through the process. Georgia is a shall issue state where folks are allowed to use deadly force if attacked. A Georgia man, though, is having to explain a shot that killed a possible burglar.\r\n\r\n[in_content post=\"114004\" alignment=\"align-left\" \/]\r\n\r\nDown in Albany,\u00a0David McDuffie told police that when he got home he noticed a man across the street. McDuffie said thought the man was acting strange. Then, when McDuffie unlocked his gate and pulled his car into the driveway, he saw the man getting closer. The man, identified as\u00a0Jamie Lee Lewis, then allegedly opened the screen door and walked on the porch. That's when McDuffie fired a shot to warn Lewis, according to a WALB<\/a> report.\r\n\r\nPolice arrived on the scene to find Lewis fatally shot. They ended up detaining McDuffie for questions, and sent the case to the Albany Police Department investigation unit.\r\n\r\nLater reports<\/a> state that McDuffie pleaded with Lewis to go away, both before and after he pulled the screen door. Additionally, McDuffie claims he fired a second shot, after the warning shot, because Lewis charged in his direction. Police released McDuffie, but are still investigating the incident.\r\n\r\n\u201cI don\u2019t know all the details, because it\u2019s still under investigation. What all could have happened, whether the person knew him, I don\u2019t know. So that\u2019s part of the investigation, but I know you have the right to protect your home and family,\u201d said Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.\r\n
Georgia Man Shouldn't Fire Warning Shot<\/h3>\r\nBarring any unforeseen details, McDuffie probably won't be charged; the Peach State has excellent gun laws, including Stand Your Ground. However, warning shots are never a good idea. When a bullet leaves a gun<\/a>, it has to go somewhere, and it can go a long way until it hits something. That something could be someone's property. But, it could be an innocent person.\r\n\r\nA lot of people believe in warning shots, because they feel it is a good way to prevent having to shoot a person. However, warning shots should never be used. They are unsafe, and they can reveal the location of the shooter. The thieves made off with a variety of high-end goods. These included a\u00a0Richard Mille watch,\u00a0a Patek Philippe watch,\u00a0two diamond chains and Cartier sunglasses. They also got his iPad, MacBook and, most importantly,\u00a0Glock<\/a> pistol.\r\n\r\nPolice report that video surveillance caught the theft on video, but claim the situation is puzzling.\r\n\r\n\"It was unusual in a number of ways,\" Fairburn Police Department Assistant Police Chief Anthony Bazydlo told WSB<\/a>. \"No. 1, we see the suspects in the video. They come to this vehicle three separate times.\"\r\n\r\nPolice also say that the video shows the taillights flashing after Dolph exited the vehicles. Then, the video shows the lights flashing two more times over the next couple of minutes.\r\n\r\n\"That's interesting to us in terms of what was happening with the vehicle,\" Bazydlo said. \"Was it being locked? Unintentionally unlocked? We don't know.\"\r\n\r\nDespite having the crime on video, Fairburn police currently have no suspects. They are still investigating. Rapper Young Dolph Might Want to Carry<\/h3>\r\nNow no one\u00a0has reported whether the Memphis rapper has a concealed carry permit. However, Georgia does recognize permits from Tennessee, and Georgia law allows people to keep a gun in a vehicle without a permit. So Dolph didn't break any laws by having a pistol in his car, even if he doesn't have a permit. In fact, considering the two attempts on his life in 2017, he is being prudent. He should, however, find a better way to store valuables in his vehicle, particularly his Glock pistol.\r\n\r\nThere are times when gun owners can't carry on their person. Sometimes this requires storing a gun in a car because of short visits to off-limit places during the day. This makes guns vulnerable to theft. It is also why concealed carriers need to have a plan for these times. There are numerous lockboxes, cables and other storage devices that can used in a car to prevent unauthorized access.
