In fact, she\u2019s pretty much made a career of it.\r\n\r\n[in_content post=\"120234\" alignment=\"align-left\" \/]\r\n\r\nBut her Tweet last week declaring avid gun owners who value the Second Amendment to be misogynist was truly over the top. During a Twitter \u201cdiscussion\u201d about Michigan protesters flooding the state capitol to protest Gov. Gretchen Whitmer\u2019s restrictive lockdown orders and directives, Watts Tweeted: \u201cThis is absolutely fueled by the fact that Gov. Whitmer is a woman. Not all misogynists are gun extremists, but all gun extremists are misogynists<\/strong>.\u201d\r\nDianna Muller Takes On Shannon Watts<\/h2>\r\nDianna Muller<\/a> is a former Tulsa police officer and competitive shooter. She's also head of the DC Project\u2014a women's initiative that supports gun rights. We reached out to Muller about what Watts Tweeted and she had her own thoughts. As Muller pointed out, the definition of misogyny is, \u201cA dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cFirst of all, there are many women protesters in the video,\u201d Muller said. \u201cI don\u2019t know these women, but I think it is highly unlikely that they are all \u2018women haters.\u2019\u00a0 Second, Gov. Ralph Northam from Virginia is a male and he has been met with the same \u2018enthusiasm\u2019 for freedom.\u201d\r\n\r\nMuller said when Watts makes claims like \u201call gun extremists are misogynists,\u201d it appears that she isn\u2019t paying any attention to what\u2019s really occurring on the national scene right now.\r\n\r\n\u201cFor those of us that are intellectually honest, Watts comes across in this post as disingenuous, at best, or just a liar,\u201d she said. \u201cMight I suggest that, perhaps, their displeasure has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with the trampling of our freedoms? That is a common denominator in protests around the country.\u201d\r\n\r\nMuller said what was even more disturbing than the original thoughts by Watts were the subsequent comments by her followers.\r\n\r\n\u201cMany used words like \u2018arrest,\u2019 \u2018stupid,\u2019 \u2018terrorists,\u2019 \u2018nuts,\u2019\u201d Muller said. \u201cOne hashtagged \u2018#michiganterrorists\u2019 in reference to the protesters. Another called for the National Guard to protect the politicians and end the Second Amendment!\r\n\r\n\u201cOther comments brought in race and said that if the Michigan protesters were black, they would have been shot. Portraying gun owners as \u2018white supremacists\u2019 is just another lie.\u201d\r\n
Armed & Not-So Dangerous<\/h4>\r\nMuller also found the commentary on the armed protestors interesting. Many commented how dangerous these protestors must be due to their firearms. Those complainers should have learned something from the situation.\r\n\r\n\u201cAll of the naysayers were concerned about the \u2018terrorists with guns at the capitol,\u2019 but I would like to point out that no one got shot,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cTensions are high in situations like these, yet time and time again gun owners demonstrate that they aren\u2019t \u2018off the chain\u2019 or \u2018looking for someone to shoot,\u2019 and that this isn\u2019t the \u2018Wild West.\u2019\u201d\r\n\r\nMuller said that for her and others in the DC Project, it is maddening to see the misinformation and hate campaigns Shannon Watts and others promote against America\u2019s law-abiding gun owners.\r\n\r\n\u201cAdd in the \u2018mainstream\u2019 media squelching our community in advertisements, programming and social media, combined with them giving the antis a bullhorn and carte blanche to say anything they want regardless of truth, and it\u2019s all a little disheartening,\u201d she said. \u201cThey are deceiving and influencing so many people.\u201d\r\n
Watts Disengages<\/h4>\r\nAsked what she would say to Watts if she could speak to her directly, Muller said she had, indeed, met and spoke to the head Mom last year at a photo shoot for TIME<\/em> magazine.\r\n\r\n\u201cI introduced myself to her and gave her my card at the TIME<\/em> \u2018Guns in America\u2019 photo shoot,\u201d she said. \u201cShe asked if I supported \u2018universal background checks. When I said, \u2018No,\u2019 she disengaged. I made it clear that she could call me at any time.\u201d\r\n\r\nA few weeks ago in response to some crazy anti-gun statements by actress Alyssa Milano<\/a>, Muller publicly invited Milano to go the range with her to learn more about guns and gun owners. She is now extending that offer to Watts. The same goes for anyone else willing to have an open mind and learn more about women, guns and freedom.\r\n\r\n\u201cEvery year, the DC Project has extended invitations to legislators and their staff, as well as the media,\u201d Muller said. \u201cSeveral have taken us up on it, but there are so many more who need the opportunity to spend time with these \u2018women gun nuts\u2019 or \u2018patriots,\u2019 whichever way you choose to look at us. The gunsmiths just broke it down, soaked it overnight and made it look like a whole new gun. They maintained professionalism and got the pistol back up and running. However, this is a good example of why you can't just drop your gun in a holster or pocket and not occasionally, at least, clean your carry gun.\n
How to Clean Your Carry Gun<\/h3>\nCleaning a gun is quite easy in concept. It could possibly be more difficult in practice, but that's just finding the time to actually do it.\n\nIt is best if gun owners wipe the carry gun down daily, but that might be overkill for many. However, it is completely acceptable to wipe down the outside once a week. Then, run an oiled patch through the barrel followed by a dry patch once a month. This is also a good time to remove the slide and wipe down the inside of both. All of this, of course, is preceded by unloading the pistol and then double checking it contains no rounds.\n\nAll this is what conceal carriers should do for the gun that mostly rides on their hip to ensure functionality. However, last Sunday in Detroit, the phrase \"church lady\" took on a different meaning after a woman shot and killed an attacker.\r\n\r\n[in_content post=\"96140\" alignment=\"align-left\" \/]\r\n\r\nAccording to reports, a 55-year-old woman was leaving for services with her daughter when a man accosted them.\u00a0The man allegedly grabbed the woman's coat before the two women fled back inside. However, the man then followed them the pair inside their home. After repeatedly asking the man to leave, the homeowner retrieved a handgun and fire two shots. Police arrived and found the man with at least one round in his chest. He died at the scene.\r\n\r\nThe shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 9000\u00a0block of\u00a0Mark Twain Street, according to\u00a0WDIV<\/a>. Police said there was also a 75-year-old woman inside the home during the incident.\r\n
Don't Mess With a Church Lady<\/h3>\r\nAt this point, police believe the woman didn't know the assailant and acted in self-defense<\/a>. Neighbors heard the shot, and, at first, thought the victims had been harmed. However, they were later relieved to learn that the women fought back and none had been injured.\r\n\r\nOne neighbor even went at far as saying he still felt safe in the area, as he also has something to arm himself, too.\r\n\r\nWho knows if divine intervention played a part in this incident, but there is no doubt this lady had the wherewithal. She also had a gun for which she knew enough to end the attack, protecting both herself and her family. Now, she wasn't carrying, but she might want to consider doing so in the future.\r\n\r\nMichigan law allows open carry. Additionally, the Michigan house passed constitutional carry, the bill never went anywhere in the senate. However, Michigan is considered a \"shall issue\" state, which means it wouldn't be hard to this church lady to get a permit. And while Detroit seems to have come back from its heyday of violence, there are still many areas considered less than safe. Also, as shown, people with bad intentions can show up anywhere and at any time, even on a Sunday morning.\r\n\r\nBottom line: Don't mess with church lady.\r\n
